NOW before I vote for you fellows, what are you going to do about employment ?
The council should be employing more staff, parks gardens rods and footpaths need doing as well as wlk ways and bike paths. I have been on a waiting list for 4 years to have some work with the Council and Shoalhaven Water. It's not what you know BUT who you know that gets you a job in council I fear. I did some work casual for a litle bit , but it seems silly to have someone travelling from NOWRA to Ulladulla, when I had to travel from Ulladulla to Nowra, when I was working. I have applied many times, and the Council should be providing alot more full tme work positions.
THANK YOU.

I agree. It is amazing the extent that Greg Watson and his cronies have gone try and give the impression that they are doing a good job. We need to get new blood and a mayor who is interested ib preserving our wonderful area

I have searched your website but can find no background information on John Fergusson (standing for Mayor and councillor for Ward 2) or Patricia Mason who is currently a council member and will, I presume be a candidate for Ward 1. I personally have no knowledge of neither of these candidates and it is unlikely many non-resident ratepayers would have any knowledge either.
I also need to know what differentiates Ms Mason from other current council members in their push for inappropriate development.

Well. It seems like it's panic time for the Sholahaven Independents Group. They appear to be rushing through last minute DCP's before the local elections. I feel deeply for those concerned ratepayes from Milton and Ulladulla who have worked hard in developing a compromise that is acceptable to all concerned.
I am not a resident of Milton or Ulladulla but I will be at the meeting on Wednesday to give my support.
Watson and his Herd of Independent sheep need to be Investigated by the DLG. I hope that this institution is not a paper tiger and can apply the blowtorch to those reckless or incompetent councillors who refuse to follow the rules of local government.

John can add another dirty deal to his shame file for the Shoalhaven Independents - the adoption of DCP 56 for the Ulladulla Town Centre at an extraordinary meeting of Council on 29th July.

The "Shoalhaven Independents" led by Greg Watson demonstrated their contempt for the residents of Ulladulla and Mollymook when they forced through DCP 56, without the staff recommendations to amend the draft policy which would have reached a compromise
between residents and business wishes.

Instead, representatives of the Business Chamber did a deal with the Independents to ensure only their needs are met, regardless of what the community have requested.

Two years of tireless work by dedicated community members with NO VESTED INTEREST in the DCP was thrown out the window in an act of utter contempt for the residents who have invested their life savings
and their future in a town which may now become nothing more than an opportunity for
non-local greedy developers to make their fortune at the expense of hapless residents.

I agree the present councillors have to go. We need a council led by people with the community at heart, open and honest and who follow their own guidelines. A council who insist that development in the Shoalhaven are worthy of, and ensure the area retains, the unique and wonderful values we now have.

Mark

I agree wholeheartedly with the points you've made.

I live in Berry and it's been my misfortune to try getting sensible answers to some pretty simple questions on the dodgy DA for the illegal airfield at Jasper's Brush from Clr Anderson and others recently.

The most benevolent view is that the Watson mob are incompetent, but I suspect it's much worse than that.

You guys are doing a demonstrably good job down south, but please highlight all of your endorsed candidates for all wards clearly on your website, so that people in the northern part of the council area can get better informed too.

I believe the council are trying to pass this before the cut off time prior to the election.
Guess if their is a change in the make up of the council in the coming election, the passing of the DCP56 as it now stands will be difficult to amend.
Voters, stand up and be counted, make your vote count.

I am very pleased to see these two stand as candidates for the coming election in September. I and many others wholeheartedly agree with their policy views. Let us hope that the community will take notice of what has been happening in our local area and voice their concern at the ballot box.
